November 9-11 Box Office Predictions

Sorry for the late post.

THE NEW RELASES

Lincoln

Plot: As the Civil War continues to rage, America’s president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

Lincoln is getting a limited release to 11 theatres this weekend. It seems really great because it is directed by Steven Spielberg, and has a great cast. The cast includes Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field.

Lincoln (limited release) Prediction: $328, 000

Skyfall

Plot: Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

The real big release this weekend, though, is Skyfall. It’s being released to 3400 theatres, and it has already made an extremely impressive $289 million since its October 19 release overseas. Daniel Craig’s back for his third Bond film (after Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace), and he’s facing the great Javier Bardem this time. It is also directed by the great Sam Mendes (American BeautyRoad to Perdition).

Skyfall Prediction: $85, 000, 000

    Hi Daniel!

I’d like to see Skyfall pull in $85M, but I think with the early Thursday release, the numbers are going to skew a little lower. I’m not that far off from you though…I’m at $78M.

    Good luck!

Nice prediction! Good luck to you too! You should have seen my initial prediction, I had it at $125M! Good thing I changed it, I don’t know what the heck I was thinking lol.
