Here I spoke with actors Brooke Nevin and Corey Sevier (who also directs the film) about their work on the new Christmas romance film, "It Takes a Christmas Village," where Brooke Nevin plays a Mayor who plans a last-minute Christmas market to help the small shops in town. Coming to Super Channel on Dec. 1, with a limited, one-night only theatrical run tonight, Nov. 29.

I love the feeling of going into a film knowing as little as possible. For The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, I didn’t know what to expect other than its tragic end. Director and writer David Midell throws us right into the situation. Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. (Frankie Faison) turns over in his sleep and accidentally triggers his LifeAid pendant, which he wears because of a heart condition. Responding to this, three police officers show up to his apartment around 5:20 a.m. on November 19, 2011, for a welfare check, eventually leading to Kenneth’s tragic death.
Brother, I Cry is a beautiful passion project by writer and director Jessie Anthony, and the film is a drama about a First Nations man, Jon (Justin Rain), who is struggling to overcome his addiction and avoid the multiple warrants out on him. With his family rallying behind him, he tries to overcome his demons.
As I’ve enjoyed more and more documentaries over the past little while, the documentaries made for entertainment, or behind-the-scenes documentaries, are some of my favourites. That’s exactly the case with Surviving Supercon, from director and editor Steven Shea, which takes us on a behind-the-scenes look into the Florida Supercon. Founded by by husband-and-wife team Mike Broder and Sandy Martin, their event has grown to attract over 60,000 fans, and this documentary focuses on their 2018 Fort Lauderdale event.
