“Secrets of a Gold Digger Killer” Interview | Actress Justine Warrington | The Filmcraziest Show

In the Lifetime Original Movie Secrets of a Gold Digger Killer, Julie Benz plays Celeste Beard, a waitress turned trophy wife after she marries millionaire Steven Beard. A few years into the marriage, a home invader shoots Steven in the middle of the night. The aftermath delves into the mystery and motives, as spoiled by the film’s title. In the film, Justine Warrington plays one of the film’s major characters, Tracey Tarlton. She meets Celeste at a wellness spa and they become fast friends, where Tracey also operates as one of Celeste’s pawns. For this episode of my podcast The Filmcraziest Show, I was able to speak with Justine about her role in the film. We spoke about working with Julie Benz, the research into playing a real-life character, the intensity of the courtroom scene, working in Vancouver and more.

“The Holy Game” Interview | Co-directors Brent Hodge and Chris Kelly, and Father Michael Zimmerman | The Filmcraziest Show

For The Holy Game, I was able to speak with the film’s co-directors Brent Hodge and Chris Kelly, as well as one of the film’s documentary subjects Father Michael Zimmerman, now a priest in Boston. This was also the first time I had a priest on my podcast The Filmcraziest Show, so that was rather neat. In the conversation, we talked about what got the directors on the film, some of the background for the Clericus Cup and its fanbase, deciding what voices from which best team could best help tell this story, finding the audience for the film, filming the sports scenes and a lot of other conversation topics in between. As well, Father Michael talked about his reactions to watching the film for the first time.

“Holler” Interview | Director and Writer, Nicole Riegel | The Filmcraziest Show

I was able to speak with the film’s writer and director, Nicole Riegel, about her film Holler on my podcast The Filmcraziest Show. We discuss casting Jessica Barden in the role and Nicole wanting someone with a sense of humour fitting for women from Appalachian states; making the film in Riegel's hometown and this being like her coming-of-age story; bringing out the beauty of the town and playing with the colour red; as well as stolen library books.

“The Stylist” Interview | Writer, Director Jill Gevargizian | Written Interview

In The Stylist, Najarra Townsend plays Claire, a lonely hairdresser who loves her clients as they confide in her with their secrets. She has a number of kills under her belt as a hairdresser, but when she becomes more obsessed with one of her clients, Olivia (Brea Grant), who asks her to be her stylist for her wedding, she begins on a more aggressive, murderous rampage.

Blending character study with slasher, Jill Gevargizian's The Stylist paints an intriguing portrait of loneliness and obsession, as it definitely has more gore than your average stalker story, making it feel more like a slasher. It all leads up to a thrilling ending, as it's still interesting learning what will happen to Claire by the end of the film because of Townsend's layered performance as the character.

I was able to chat with the film's writer, director and producer Jill Gevargizian through e-mail about her film, in time for the film's Blu-Ray release today, June 8, through Arrow Video. Read on below:
